To kick off June’s Acne Awareness Month, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc., one of the nation’s largest pharmaceutical companies, celebrated the official launch party of their campaign AH-Ha!™. The luncheon was hosted by Dr. Sandra Lee with special guest and skin expert, Cassandra Bankson, to discuss how hormones play an integral role when it comes to acne, while giving insight on how to navigate around it.
So, what exactly is AH-Ha™? The campaign is designed to spotlight hormones as a major underlying cause of acne, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. Acne is the most prevalent skin condition in the U.S., affecting up to 50 million Americans and 80% of people at some point during their lives.
“I’m participating in the Sun Pharma campaign to help people who suffer from acne understand the crucial role that hormones play in causing the condition,” said Dr. Lee, who is widely known by her TV and social media persona Dr. Pimple Popper. “I also want people to know that acne caused by hormones impacts everyone regardless of gender and can happen at any age – not just in teenagers.” Guests were also given the privilege to to personally ask Dr. Sandra Lee and Cassandra Bankson questions regarding acne care and hormones while engaging in unique acne related activations.
