The MUAHS Gifting and Education Suite happened this weekend–hosted by the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild at the Beauty Blender Headquarters. Those who attended had the opportunity to connect with some of TV and films most renowned beauty makers while engaging with well-loved brands and meeting reps from new brands.
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE Local 706) is the official labor union for make-up artists and hair stylists in film, television, stage and digital media. These artistic professionals have created the iconic looks for Hollywood’s most memorable characters and stars, and have influenced major trends in the consumer industry.
The event could not have been possible without the help from the Sponsors of the evening: Dove, BeautyBlender, Schwarzkopf, Le Mieux, Farouk + Chi, Ardell, Urban Decay, Fusion PKG, Black Opal, Clubman Pinaud, Hollywood Fashion Secrets, Woody’s, Giovanni Cosmetics, Punky Colour, Tablette, Skinshine Beauty, and Once Upon a Coconut–the beverage sponsor for the event.
What also took place at the Gifting Suite was the launch of DOVE® brand’s “Crown Day Competition,” an online hair-styling contest celebrating Afro-centric hairstyles for the Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild, IATSE Local 706 members. This celebrates the passage of “The Crown Act” by the State of California on July 3rd, 2019, which protects the rights of people of color at schools and in the workplace to wear afro-centric hairstyles without fear of repercussion.
